This Shipping Policy applies to the purchase of all physical books from Brave Roots (www.braveroots.co.za), located at 59 Tom Brown Boulevard, Santareme, St Francis Bay, Eastern Cape, 6312.

A. Domestic Shipping (Within South Africa)

1. Order Processing: Orders are processed and prepared for dispatch within 1 to 3 business days following successful payment clearance (Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays).
2. Shipping Methods and Costs: We utilise reputable third-party courier services. Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on the delivery address, parcel weight, and dimensions, and will be added to your order total.
3. Estimated Delivery Times (from dispatch):

   • Major Metros (Cape Town, Johannesburg, Durban, Pretoria): 2–4 business days.
   • Regional and Remote Areas: 3–7 business days.

4. Tracking: A tracking number will be provided via email once the order is dispatched.
5. Risk of Loss: Brave Roots ensures books are packaged securely. However, the risk of loss or damage passes to the customer upon handover of the goods to the courier service.

B. International Shipping (Outside South Africa)

Brave Roots facilitates international orders, but operates a separate, post-purchase payment process for shipping costs to ensure accuracy:

1. Initial Order and Payment: International customers pay for the book price only at checkout. Shipping will initially show as "To Be Determined" or a nominal placeholder.
2. Shipping Quotation: Once the book payment is confirmed, Brave Roots will obtain competitive shipping quotes from reliable international carriers (e.g., DHL, FedEx) and email the full quote to the customer.
3. Acceptance and Separate Payment:

   • If the customer accepts the quote, a separate, secure payment link for the shipping fee only will be issued.
   • The order will only be dispatched once the separate shipping payment has been received.

4. Cancellation: If the customer declines the quote or fails to pay the shipping fee within 7 calendar days of receiving the quote, the entire book order will be cancelled, and a full refund will be issued for the initial book price paid.
5. Customs, Duties, and Taxes: The customer is solely responsible for any import duties, customs fees, local taxes, or VAT charged by the destination country. Brave Roots has no control over these charges and cannot predict what they may be.
