This policy is compliant with the Consumer Protection Act (CPA) and the Electronic Communications and Transactions (ECT) Act of South Africa.

A. Customer Right to Cancel (ECT Act Cooling-off Period)

Customers have the right to return physical books without penalty or reason within 7 calendar days of receipt.

1. Notification: The return must be initiated by written notice (email to jenilee@braveroots.co.za) within the 7-day period.
2. Condition of Return: The book must be returned in the original, unread, and 100% resalable condition. This means no bent covers, creased pages, spine cracks, writing, or any other sign of use.
3. Return Shipping Cost: The customer is responsible for the cost and risk of returning the goods to the Brave Roots address: 13 Pepper St, St Francis Bay, Eastern Cape, 6312.
4. Refund: A full refund of the book price, minus the original shipping cost (domestic or international), will be processed within 14 days of Brave Roots receiving and inspecting the book. If the book is returned damaged or not in a resalable condition, a refund may be refused or a reasonable handling fee applied.

B. Defective or Unfit Books (CPA Implied Warranty)

All physical books carry an implied warranty of quality for 6 months from the date of purchase.

1. Defects Covered: This section covers manufacturing defects such as missing pages, faulty binding, or persistent printing errors that render the book unusable. It does not cover damage caused by the customer or transit damage not reported promptly.
2. Procedure: The defect must be reported immediately via email to jenilee@braveroots.co.za with proof of purchase and clear photographic evidence.
3. Resolution: Brave Roots will, at the customer's choice, (a) replace the book, (b) repair the book (if feasible), or (c) refund the full purchase price (including original shipping).
4. Return Shipping Cost: Brave Roots will arrange and cover the full cost of collection for defective items.

C. Exclusions

Returns or refunds will not be accepted for:

• Books damaged due to customer negligence, misuse, or improper storage (e.g., water damage).
• Books returned after the 6-month warranty period or 7-day cooling-off period, unless otherwise agreed.
